It’s been a week of challenge, growth, and discovery in the studio this week. Our pack is forming, systems are arising, and we are building something beautiful (and messy) together. 🙂
Here’s a little sneak peak into the studio.
After lots of self-exploration and team-building our first two weeks of school, we started on some academic exploration this week. Wolves spent a lot of time testing different math and language arts programs with the challenge to pick their final programs by next week. Once they do, we’ll start working together to form their badge plans for the year!
We introduced Town Hall this week, with N and W leading the committee. Town Hall is a time when learners bring up issues or ideas in the studio and vote on them as a team.
We also had a lot of fun swimming, playing at the skatepark, and visiting the library!
Skills we’re practicing: listening to each other’s words, looking into each other’s eyes, and having a growth mindset about challenges and other people. These have been the topic of our launches this week, and we’ve carried our practice throughout our day.
Questions to explore at home: Is it easier for you to practice a growth mindset about yourself or about other people? What puts you in your challenge zone more: dealing with someone you don’t get along with or tackling a task that is hard for you?
